A friend formerly stationed at Guantanamo Bay writes:
"I have been in contact with Father Vanden Boogard the new Pastor in Our Lady of Cobre in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. He is in need of more Rosaries and other sacramentals. Please let me know if you can assist with this effort. "
If you have any rosaries to spare, send me an e-mail and we can work out getting them mailed to me and I can get them to Guantanamo. I am willing to pay postage if need be. The job our soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines are doing down there is a tough one. Any support that you can give them would be appreciated.

Martin,
If you're looking for information regarding the detainees at Gitmo, then I doubt that Fr. Boogard would have anything of interest to tell you. He sees to the pastoral needs of the Catholics assigned there be they military, government civilian, NGO, or other employed.

I would love to hear the pastor's reflections on gitmo. You can send him my e-mail of course, or has he written anything at all about anything at all?

I hope he's trying to convert the prisoners!

Amy,
I can't speak to why the church isn't getting what it needs through the Military Archdiocese. This request came from the new pastor through the KofC Council at GITMO to us.
Romy,
Prayer cards and any other sacramentals that you would like to include will also be welcomed.

That's odd. Is it a military parish? The military should supply all those things. They don't always, but they're supposed to.
Is there still a need? I'll see what I can do.

Hi there ... I'm with a rosary makers' group in Michigan, and we should be able to send a fair number, if you can e-mail me the address!
